Sometimes the best therapy comes with four paws, a gentle purr, and a warm spot on your lap.

What began as the rescue of four vulnerable kittens has become one of the most heartwarming success stories at Winhaven, AJ Psychology and Animal Assisted Therapy. Today Jasper, Matilda, Ziggy and Rosie are much-loved therapy cats, bringing comfort, connection and plenty of smiles to both children and adults who attend the practice.

Jasper and Matilda, a brother-and-sister duo, despite their difficult start in life, quickly showed their affectionate and gentle nature. Never far from people, they became experts at sensing when someone needed a little extra comfort, often curling up beside clients or on their knees during sessions or greeting visitors with quiet curiosity.

Another brother-and-sister pair, Ziggy and Rosie, also joined the Winhaven family. Like Jasper and Matilda, they had been rescued and were looking for a safe and loving home. They settled in immediately, filling the practice with playful energy, soft purrs and endless affection.

Together, the four cats have become valued members of the team. Clients often look forward to seeing them, and many children who feel nervous about attending appointments find comfort in a furry friend sitting beside them. Adults, too, frequently comment on the calming presence of the cats and the way they help create a warm, welcoming environment.

Each cat has developed their own unique personality. Jasper is known for his friendly confidence and love of attention. Matilda has a gentle, nurturing nature and seems to know exactly when someone needs a quiet companion. Ziggy brings a playful spirit that can brighten even the toughest day, while Rosie wins hearts wherever she goes with her affectionate cuddles and endless charm

For the team at Winhaven, these four rescue kittens are a reminder that healing and connection can come in many forms. Once in need of rescue themselves, Jasper, Matilda, Ziggy and Rosie now spend their days helping others feel safe, supported and cared for.

Their story is proof that sometimes the best outcomes are the ones where everyone gets rescued. Through their gentle presence, these four remarkable cats have not only found a forever home, they have found a purpose, and in doing so, have captured the hearts of an entire community.

From rescued kittens to cherished therapy cats, Jasper, Matilda, Ziggy and Rosie continue to remind us every day of the extraordinary impact that love, trust and companionship can have on wellbeing.

Leo also came to Winhaven as a rescue.

As a tiny foster kitten at just six weeks of age. From the very beginning, his curious nature and playful personality made him impossible not to love. Before long, he found his forever home and became a much-loved member of the family.

Always eager to investigate something new, Leo can turn even the simplest object into an exciting adventure. Whether he's chasing toys, exploring every corner of the house, or keeping a close eye on what everyone is doing, his curiosity knows no bounds.

Fun, energetic, and full of character, Leo is always up for a play session. He brings laughter and joy wherever he goes with his cheeky antics and endless enthusiasm. Despite his adventurous spirit, Leo also loves being around his people and thrives on attention and companionship.

From a tiny foster kitten to a treasured family member, Leo continues to fill every day with fun, affection, and plenty of entertainment. 🐱❤️
